YORK RI possessed too much firepower for Dringhouses to prevail in the delayed third round tie of the York City and District FA Saturday Senior Cup.
Hosts Dringhouses were first off the mark with a Liam Robertson goal before RI levelled through a Liam Keeaghan penalty followed by a Darren Sellers header to put them 2-1 up.
But by half-time the scores were level again when Robertson struck again.
RI edged in front after half-time with a Leigh Dutton header and from then the visitors did not look back.
Craig McShane made it 4-2 with a header from a corner before York RI’s final goal came from a Josh Coulson curling 15-yard shot to seal a place in the semi-finals.
