The second round of the York FA Cup saw a reduced fixture list this weekend in the York Minster Engineering League. In the Premier Division, the only fixture saw two lowly teams collide as Terrington Glory defeated Easingwold Town 2-0 with first-half goals from Josh Ward and Chris Rhodes.

F1 Racing moved to the top of Division One with a 6-0 thumping of St Clements. The hosts raced into a 5-0 half-time advantage with two apiece from Danny Penrose and George Trifan, plus a Chris Dempsey effort. Jason McCloud hit a stunning strike from the edge of the box to wrap the game up in the second period.

Heslington moved up to third with a 4-1 defeat of York St John University. Daniel Hood (2), Gareth Hurst and Lee Topping notched for the home side, with Joe Wharton hitting the solitary reply. Cliffe gained their first league win of the season with a 3-1 triumph over visiting Pocklington. Chris Jackson hit the opener before debutant Dean Wood bagged a brace to secure the points for the Oxen Lane side.

Jamie Husband’s goal for Fulford was cancelled out by Andy Haigh’s second in two weeks as the only game in Division Two ended in a stalemate.

Division Three leaders Moor Lane were on the wrong end of a 5-2 defeat as they went down at Selby Olympia. Gareth Strain tapped in an early goal for the Selby side and their lead was doubled when Joseph Krygsman volleyed hom

e. Krygsman added his second, and Olympia’s third, from the penalty spot before Joe Hare pulled a goal back for Moor Lane. Shortly after the break Steven Frost lobbed the keeper from 45 yards to put Moor Lane further ahead but Brendan Walsh soon made it 4-2 with a spot kick of his own. Strain completed the scoring with a low drive late in the game.

Adam Room scored both goals for Jorvik Blades as they drew 2-2 at home to Crayke. Rufforth suffered a setback as they went down 7-0 to South Milford.

Wetherby Athletic moved to the top of Division 4 as they cruised to a 6-1 defeat of Huntington WMC. Matthew Barnfather and Ben Carter both grabbed doubles for Wetherby, and their efforts were supplemented by Luke Danby and Brad Hill. Dan Hunter hit Huntington’s consolation.

Former leaders Huntington FC were knocked off their perch by a rejuvenated Cawood side. James Darlison hit a hat-trick in their 5-1 win, with Daniel Smith and Craig Allen also making the score sheet. James Speck replied.

Settrington went down 4-0 at Melbourne. Luke Laverack bagged a brace, adding to efforts from Tim Gough and Ben Neal.

Riccall won the only game of the day in Reserve A, defeating Easingwold by three goals to two. George Elliott bagged two for the home side but was matched in his efforts by the free-scoring Gary Chapman. Jack Healey added the crucial third for Riccall.

Harrisons’ Signs moved up to third in Reserve B as goals from Glynn Wellesby and Caleb Boyle guided them to a 2-0 triumph over local rivals Heslington. Ryan Cooper, Adam Cook and Thomas Garbutt were on target for Malton and Norton but they suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Brooklyn.

Will Wood and Nik Shaw both fired doubles as Stamford Bridge inflicted a 5-2 loss on Hemingbrough. Sam Wood added Stamford’s fifth with Darryl Tate grabbing both of the home side’s efforts.

Sam Godber (2), Kyle Worsley, Adam Robertson and an own goal comprised Wilberfoss’s tally as they gained a 5-1 success over F1 Racing in Reserve C. Selby RSSC beat Bishop Wilton by three goals to two.
