JACK GARRITTY, who enjoyed a career milestone at Doncaster on Saturday when riding his first treble, can extend his winning run at Redcar this afternoon.

The 18-year-old apprentice, whose father Russ Garritty was a successful North Yorkshire jump jockey riding for Tim Easterby and Peter Beaumont, was originally attached to Andrew Balding’s Kingsclere stable in Berkshire, but switched to Malton trainer Richard Fahey earlier this season.

It has been a hugely profitable move. Garritty has since ridden 20 winners for Fahey, including Saturday’s trio, which took his tally for the campaign to 36 winners.

This afternoon, Garritty is fancied to score on New Lease Of Life in the 100% RacingUK Profits Returned To Racing Apprentice Handicap.

Jim Goldie’s gelding will enjoy the easy ground after winning on a similar surface at Ayr on his latest start. He has every chance of following up.

Wolfofwallstreet looks capable of defying top-weight in the Download Your Racing UK App Nursery Handicap.

Ed Walker’s juvenile showed promise when finishing fourth at York in maiden company on his penultimate start. He has since finished a creditable second in a nursery at Windsor.

A reproduction of that form will enable him to go very close to winning this afternoon in what would be a timely success given he is entered at the Horses In Training Sales at Newmarket later in the week.

In the European Breeders Fund Double Trigger Maiden Stakes, named after the North Yorkshire horse trained at Middleham by Mark Johnston and who developed into a top-notch stayer, Not Never takes the eye.

The mount of Graham Gibbons, Hugo Palmer’s juvenile impressed when finishing fifth at Goodwood on his debut. He should be all the better for that experience.

Also worth noting at Redcar are recent course winner Crakehall Lad (3.10) and Millkwood (3.40), who came so close to finally losing his maiden tag at Thirsk last month.

Ayr’s jumping meeting promises to continue the good run of success currently being enjoyed by Cumbrian trainer Nicky Richards.

The Greystoke handler has several good chances on the card, starting off with Chidswell, who is napped to win the opening BetVictor. com Maiden Hurdle.

Brian Harding’s mount won his only race last season, a bumper at Newcastle in November. He was spoken of in glowing terms that day by Richards, who has since given him time to mature.

An exciting talent, Chidswell is napped to get his season off to a winning start.

Richards also has good prospects with Looking Well in the EBF/Download The BetVictor App Novices’ Hurdle.

The five-year-old won a bumper at Perth on his only start last season. He looks a useful proposition now switched to hurdles, but this is a competitive race with the likes of Hurricane Hollow and Sudski Star in the field.

Richards has yet another good chance with Streams Of Whiskey in the Play Casino At BetVictor.com Handicap Chase.

The gelding is a useful horse on his day and was a winner on his final outing last season.
