ELVINGTON motor-bike ace Sam Holme signed off his debut season in style.
The 20-year-old, racing a Yamaha FZR 400 motorcycle in the formula 400/Mini Thunderbikes race at Cadwell Park, shrugged off a first day retirement to mechanical problems, to take fourth in class in the first race and third in class in the second.
Improving with every race, Holme finished third overall for the season in the novice category with the Derby Phoenix motorcycle racing club.
Holme thanked his backers Elvington Park Building Services, Harris Irwin Architects, Lee Pendall, Mick Seward of MPS Racing, Sign-a-Rama York and Village Motors.
