CHAMPIONS King William bagged a hard-fought 4-3 win at Hounds to get their York Sunday Morning League campaign back on track - thanks to Scott Pallister's late winner.

Danny Snaith's penalty put them ahead and Joe Dale squeezed the ball home from a tight angle to make it 2-0 at half-time.

But Louis Blackwell reduced the deficit after the resumption and, while Anthony Evans fired home to make it 3-1, Gary Chapman and Dean Wood netted twice for Hounds to level.

With three minutes remaining, though, Pallister unleashed an unstoppable 18-yard drive to win it.

Dunnington powered ahead in the second half to upset second-placed Station 5-3.

Jimmy Wilmoth (2), Sam Wildwood (2) and Josh Tattersall got their goals, Chris Coxon (2) and Wayne Brook replying.

Wigginton moved six points clear at the top after a 5-1 win at Albion Vaults.

Grasshoppers went ahead early on through Tom Coates and Jamie Green's two goals in a minute made it 3-0. A Luke Winstanley penalty pegged them back but Terry Taylor edged Wiggy further ahead before Green completed his hat-trick to take his season’s tally to nine.

Steve Wilkes scored either side of half-time to put Bubwith two up at home to Leeman United, but Dave Hartas likewise fired in a brace to seal a 2-2 draw - both sides gaining their first point of the season.

Marcia Grey maintained their 100 per cent record in division two with a 7-2 humbling of York RI.

Alex Day scored one before turning provider with four assists.

Neil Ducey (2), Paul Harris (2), Leigh Dutton and an own goal completed Marcia’s haul. The game wasn’t as one sided as the score suggests, Marcia needing Leon Finney to produce a string of fine saves, including one from a penalty.

York Nomads rose to second with a 5-2 win at Hambleton. Sam Thompson (2), Chris Bilton, Paul Upton and Nathan Bradley found the target.

Drax and Britannia Tadcaster shared eight goals and the points after a topsy-turvy game. Drax stormed into a 3-0 half-time lead before Adam Field (2), Matthew Horner and Danny Bass put Britannia into a position to earn a 4-4 draw.

Jason Crisp bagged a hat-trick as Snaith overcame Brayton 6-3 to gain their first league win of the season. Matthew Whittaker (2) and Oliver McArdle also notched. Dale Holt scored the pick of the visitors’ goals with a looping shot, Ged Christian and Rob Guest also netting.

York Phoenix remain top of division three after a 1-1 draw with Thorpe United. Tom Lang headed in a John McKenzie cross to send Phoenix in front but Alex Lester scored a header of his own to equalise.

Selby RSSC led new boys Wentworth 1-0 at the break but the ex-York University team triumphed 3-2 at the finish. Joe Crabtree levelled for the visitors before Dom Green and Joe Brennan rose from the bench to give Wentworth their first league victory.
