NORWICH City winger Jamar Loza is one of the loan targets that has been identified to strengthen York City's ranks.

Minstermen chief Nigel Worthington, who used to manager the Canaries, has inquired about 20-year-old Loza, who has two international caps for Jamaica to his name and made his Carrow Road debut as a 58th-minute substitute against Arsenal on the final day of last term's Premier League campaign.

Earlier in the season, Loza had been loaned out to Coventry, Leyton Orient and Southend, where he scored on his home debut during a 3-0 home win against Oxford.

In recent weeks, he played 90 minutes in Norwich's 3-1 Capital One Cup victory against Crawley and also came on as a substitute during Tuesday night's 1-0 defeat to Shrewsbury in the same competition.

But, with higher-division suitors also interested in Loza, Worthington could face a fight for his services.

The City boss said: "He's a player that we are monitoring and we are waiting to see if he's an option because there are other clubs in for him. He's one that we have targeted to get in on loan and he is very direct.

"He likes to receive the ball, run at people, get in behind defences and score goals. He's also got experience at this level but we will see which division he wants to play in now and if, and when, Norwich are ready to let him go."

Loza was also a member of Norwich's 2012/13 FA Youth Cup-winning team.
