SOUTHEND United are poised to make two changes from the side that won 1-0 at Cheltenham in midweek for tomorrow’s trip to York City.

The Shrimpers are expected to welcome back 2013/14 top scorer Barry Corr, who has netted 13 times for the Roots Hall club in each of the last two seasons.

Corr has only scored once in eight outings this term, prior to missing the Cheltenham trip with a neck injury, but is likely to return in place of on-loan 20-year-old Tottenham striker Shaq Coulthirst.

Visiting boss Phil Brown will be forced into one reshuffle, meanwhile, with midfielder Ryan Leonard ruled out due to the hamstring injury he suffered at Whaddon Road.

Leonard’s replacement Connor Clifford went on to grab the winning goal in Gloucestershire and is set to be rewarded with a starting place.

Irish centre-back Cian Bolger, meanwhile, is back in training after a thigh problem but unlikely to be recalled following consecutive clean sheets in successive victories over Cheltenham and Portsmouth, who were beaten 2-0 in Essex at the weekend.

Left-back Ben Coker and midfielder Michael Timlin also remain sidelined due to elbow problems.

Clifford’s goal at Cheltenham means he is the club’s leading league scorer after doubling his personal tally for the campaign.

Midfielder Jack Payne, 19, is the top marksman in all competitions, however, with three goals including a brace in the 2-2 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy draw with AFC Wimbledon.

Southend currently lie seventh in the SkyBet League Two table with the division’s joint-strongest defensive record.

The Blues have conceded just five goals in their eight league fixtures, which is a record only matched by Bury, Wycombe and Cheltenham.

In fact, only four clubs - Wolves, Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City and Fleetwood - can boast better goals-against columns from the entire Football League.

Brown’s team have kept clean sheets in half of their matches.

In addition to their last two fixtures, they have also managed shut-outs against Accrington Stanley and AFC Wimbledon, while Plymouth are the only side to net more than once in a league game against Southend this term, following a 2-0 reverse at Home Park last month.

Southend (probable): Bentley, White, Thompson, Prosser, Binnom-Williams, Clifford, Deegan, Payne, Hurst, Corr, Weston.
