LEEDS United’s recovery under caretaker-boss Neil Redfearn gained greater momentum when the former York City youth coach steered his side to an impressive 3-1 victory at Bournemouth.
United’s long haul to the south coast took on a dismal air almost straight after the first whistle when the Cherries eked out a sixth-minute lead with a free-kick from Andrew Surman.
That single-goal deficit remained the same until just after the hour mark.
But just as they had done at Birmingham on Saturday, coming back to rescue a point, Leeds did it again, restoring parity when Souleymayne Doukara scored after being teed up by Tommaso Bianchi.
The point became the maximum three eight minutes from time when another Italian import, defender Guiseppe Bellusci, guided in a free-kick from the edge of the area into the top left-hand corner.
The victory was sewn up with a strike a minute from time by Mirco Antenucci.
Redfearn may now have at least one hand on the vacant manager’s job.
