BASHIBA, already a four-time winner this season, can add to his impressive scoresheet at Beverley today on behalf of Nigel Tinkler, who could well have a double on the bumper eight-race card.

The Langton trainer has done a fine job with his three-year-old, placing him to win at Leicester and Redcar in mid-summer and keeping him on the boil to gain victories in his last two starts on this course and at Bath.

Bashiba seems to be thriving and although he faces a stiff task this afternoon after being raised another 7lb by the handicapper, he is in such great heart that he merits serious attention in division one of the Totepool Supporting The ROA Owners Jackpot Handicap with Robert Winston in the saddle.

Half an hour later, Tinkler has good prospects of landing the second division of this five-furlong dash with Tinsill, the mount of Adrian Nicholls.

Tinsill has also proved a good money-spinner this season for Tinkler, winning at Redcar, Hamilton and Newcastle. He remains in good form having been beaten less than a length into third place by Oldjoesaid over this course and distance last month. Well drawn today, he has every chance of gaining his fourth win of 2014.

Mr Gallivanter should not be overlooked in the £10,000 Bet Toteexacta Handicap.

John Quinn may be still seeking a first win of the season on the Flat with this gelding, but he was recently successful over hurdles by a useful margin at Stratford.

Mr Gallivanter has some decent Flat form to his credit at Haydock and Doncaster and although this looks a fairly challenging race, he is entitled to go well under Phillip Makin.

Roger Varian had a weekend to remember, winning the St Leger at Doncaster with Kingston Hill and another Group 1 race at the Curragh with Cursory Glance in the Moyglare Stud Stakes.

The Newmarket trainer is sending Ajaadat to Beverley for the Bet Toteplacepot Maiden Fillies Stakes and Jack Mitchell’s mount should be hard to beat.

Runner-up in two of her three starts, this daughter of Shamardal has shown a useful level of ability. She will be a tough nut to crack.

Brian Ellison’s horses continue in good heart and the Norton trainer has several chances, not least with Multi Grain and Canny Kool.

Multi Grain, who runs in the Bet Totequadpot Maiden Auction Stakes, finished third in a nursery at Newcastle last time out and had previously shown fair form in maiden company. She can open her account under Joe Fanning.

Tom Eaves takes the mount on Canny Kool in the Collect Totepool Winnings At Betfred Shops Maiden Stakes over five furlongs.

Runner-up to Grandad’s World at Pontefract last time out, Canny Kool may not have to improve much on that performance to go one better here.

At Sandown, nap selectionTime Test makes appeal in the Max Patel Wealth Manager Of Choice Novice Stakes.

Narrowly beaten at Newbury on his debut when sent off the odds-on favourite, Time Test made no mistake on his subsequent outing at Sandown. He looks a smart colt in the making.

James Doyle, rider of Time Test, can also win the St James’s Place Wealth Management Fillies’ Handicap on Ramshackle.

Sir Michael Stoute’s three-year-old made it third-time-lucky at Wolverhampton recently. The best of her could be yet to come and she kicks off her handicap campaign off a tempting 75.
