IAN HARDCASTLE won the latest Shepherd Angling Club match on the Fire Station stretch of Selby Canal.
The match took place on a length of the canal that was mostly free of the duckweed that plagues the area at this time of the year.
All 12 anglers caught reasonably well, with perch, bream and the odd tench making up the bulk of the weights.
Hardcastle had a couple of bream and a tench in his catch of 10lb 11oz.
Second, with a mixed bag, was Steve Pattison, who weighed in 9lb 6oz.
Third was Jimmy Lamb with 6lb 6oz, including a nice 5lb bream.
