DIVISION three north pace-setters Easingwold had the worst of a draw against neighbouring Huby.

But they still hold an eight- point lead over Sheriff Hutton Bridge, who beat Drax by 171 runs at Moor Farm.

Sam Peel’s unbeaten 91 for Huby more than doubled his run total for the season and helped his side to reach 219-6 with Dan Grainger adding 34 in the face of Tom Langstaff’s 3-34.

Martin Robinson then hit 81 and Charles Ramsey 45 but M Swales, with 4-61, kept Huby’s nose in front.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge totally dominated their encounter with Drax to win by a distance.

Youthful opener Harry Sutcliffe made 30 before Nick Scaling cracked a rapid 67 as he and Mike Smith, with 60no, added 99 for the third wicket. Bridge went on to 228-4 before declaring after 43 overs.

Smith then grabbed 4-15 as Drax crashed to 19-6 before Dan Clipston’s 4-10 had them all out for 57.

Joe Shingles was in devastating form for Londesborough Park as he took 6-6 to oust Whitkirk for 78. Park won by eight wickets.

Stuart Craven made 47 and T Stubley hit 41 as Woodhouse Grange posted 161-9 against Malton, whose T Audsley had 4-29.

In reply, Alistair Blacklee made 45 and J Audsley 32 but the bowling of Russ Bilton 4-16 and Gary Chapple, with 3-37, pegged Malton to 139-9.

Sessay slipped to third after losing by nine runs at Clifton Park against York IV.

For the hosts, Kallum Ahmed made 34, Tom Boyle 31 and Cameron Burdass an unbeaten 59 in a total of 186-7.

Sessay’s reply of 177 had Matt Wass making 76 and M Jackson 43. But York’s Ted Patmore plundered 5-56 and Tom Wright 4-38.

Rowntrees & Huntington had a key division three south win when they defeated neighbouring promotion rivals New Earswick by eight wickets.

Marcus Johnson made 54no in Earswick’s 111-8 as Dan Waterworth had 4-29.

Rowntrees lost two early wickets but suffered no further inroads as Rob Stevens moved to an unbeaten 70 and Tom Shaw supported with 25no.

Will Phelps hit 89 and Glen Crouch 33 as Civil Service made 214-6. Stamford Bridge replied with 150-6 with Roddy Vann making 57 and Chris Smith 34 as L Hallem claimed 3-19.

Heworth cemented second spot after beating Goole Town by eight wickets.

Tom Neal’s 3-29 and Will Fryer’s 3-31 limited Goole to 114-9 before John Draper hit 53no and Neal 46no in a comfortable win.

Dave Fairbank made 63 as Welton & Brough posted 167-8 at Pickering, whose T Croot bagged 3-58.

Ryan Taylor struck 38 and Charlie Marwood 30 but their side had to hang on for a draw at 130-9 against Joe Irvin’s 4-14.
