THE annual City of York Hockey Club Day will take place at Huntington School on Saturday, September 6, from 10am to 4pm.

The event is aimed at players, parents, relatives and supporters from the youth and senior sections and involves matches at all club levels throughout the day.

A City of York spokesman said: “The day is a great opportunity to showcase to the club the talent within the youth section after an immense last season, and for the younger players to see senior sides play.

“For the very little ones we’ll have QuickSticks available for having a go.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the club to get together to play some great hockey, have a pre-season social, and get teams sorted out and selected for the coming season.”

There will be a barbecue, ice-creams and refreshments.

The club social will continue in the evening, starting at The Hop in Fossgate from 7.30pm.
