NORTH Yorkshire apprentice Kevin Stott, who was on the mark at York on Saturday, after landing the feature race at Hamilton the previous evening, can continue his winning run at Ripon this afternoon.

Attached to the Hambleton stable of Kevin Ryan, Stott has been booked to ride Multi Bene in the £20,000 Ripon Rowels Handicap for trainer Ed McMahon.

If ever a horse deserved to get his head in front it is Multi Bene. He has finished finished third in his last three starts, all at Haydock, and also ran a smart race to finish seventh in the Thirsk Hunt, won by Fort Bastion, earlier in the campaign.

Multi Bene has strong claims in this one mile event and he will receive every assistance from Stott, who followed-up his win at Hamilton on the Mark Johnston-trained Swivel in the Lanark Silver Bell with a useful success on Online Alexanxder, trained by his boss Ryan, on Knavesmire's concluding card.

The £30,000 Irish Stallion Farms Ripon Champion Two Yrs Old Trophy is the feature event on the card and Izzthatright may prove up to his task stepping up in class.

The Richard Fahey-trained juvenile has made massive strides in the last couple of months and was a seven length winner of a nursery at Catterick on his latest start. He faces a much stiffer test this afternoon, but he is progressing so fast that he is plainly not one to dismiss lightly.

Roger Varian's Go Sakhee (3.00) is napped to oblige for Freddie Tylicki, who yesterday rode a winner for the Queen at Yarmouth, while Lil Sophella (5.55) is selected to provide Henry Morshead - son of York's assistant clerk of the course Anthea Morshead - with his first winner.

At Newcastle, John Quinn, fresh from saddling his Royal Ascot winner The Wow Signal to land yesterday's Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville with Frankie Dettori on board, can hit the target with Seal Rock in the Haemavite B Plus Handicap over six furlongs.

Formerly a high-achiever with Henry Candy before going to be trained in Ireland, Seal Rock won at Carlisle a fortnight ago on his first outing for Quinn. There could be more to come from him.

Quinn also has a good chance with Moonlightnavigator in the Equine Products UK Transvite Blaydon Race Nursery, but Richard Fahey may have the edge with Stardrifter, the mount of George Chaloner, pictured.

A horse who failed to cut much ice in two runs in maiden company, Stardrifter came good with a vengeance when dropped into a seller at Catterick last time. Relishing the fast ground, he won by seven lengths. He is now into handicap company for the first time and is intgeresting stepping up to a mile, which he should relish.

Fahey can also score with Intiwin and Simply Shining.

Intiwin has cemented together a sequence of placed efforts, the latest a good second at York behind Celestial Path, He is overdue a winning turn and may find opportunity knocking in the Equine Product UK Selenavite Maiden Stakes (division two).

Simply Shining runs in the Equine Products UK Premier E Fillies' Handicap.

Jack Garritty's mount ran below par at York last time, but had previously finished a respectable second at Nottingham. She is worth a second look here if able to reproduce that level of form.

Also worthy of attention at Gosforth Park, course winner Whispered Times (2.50) and William Hogarth (5.10), narrowly beaten at Beverley recently.
