ACOMB moved closer to the top two in division one when they defeated Folkton & Flixton by 21 runs.

Matt Dale made 79, Richard Sykes 26 and Matt Dickinson 29 to help Acomb reach 190 against Michael Hunter’s 4-40 and Jamie Nesfield’s 3-37.

Richard Malthouse figured best in Flixton’s reply as he made 58, while Neil Elvidge hit 34, but Mark Bell took 4-33 and Joe Dale 3-31 to dismiss Flixton for 169.

Title favourites Heworth defeated relegation-threatened Malton & Old Malton by 102 runs after posting a target of 164, which included 67 by Oliver Sherwood.

Malton’s Wayne Dawson had 3-39 and W Spencer 3-25, but their batting line-up was skittled for 62 as Graham Knott pouched 5-11 and Dan Walton took 3-38.

Sessay lost ground on the leaders when their game was abandoned after they had made 237-5 against bottom placed Selby.

Matt Till hit 65, Nick Thorne 50 not out and Dave Johnson 44. Selby had reached 70-4 when the game was called off.

Bowlers were in command at Bolton Percy as both sides were dismissed for a total of 225 runs.

Firstly, Pickering were tumbled for 145, then Bolton collapsed to 80 all out.

Chris Nichol hit 35 and Colin Frank 46 for the Pikes, while Jacob Green made 25 for Percy.

He had earlier taken 5-28, but his efforts were nullified by Mark Shepherd’s 4-20 and Dave Greenlay’s 4-6.
