STRENSALL Striders Running Club are on the lookout for new members.

The York club, set up in December 2013, caters for all abilities and boasts around a dozen members, offering a weekly social training session.

Head coach Kathryn Lazenby provides various programmes for all levels, and training sessions conclude with a visit to the Ship Inn, in Strensall.

She said: "I offer coaching and advice and we adopt Run England's ten-week programme for all newcomers which is an excellent way to start running."

One of the success stories is Tracy Logan, who joined the club in January and is hoping to run her first half-marathon in October having recently completed her first sub one hour ten-kilometre time trial.

The club are particularly keen to recruit male runners as Chris Sockett is the sole man.

Anyone interested in joining the Striders should email Lazenby at strensallstriders@outlook.com or visit the Facebook page 'Strensall Striders Running Club'.

The club, open to over-18s, meet at the Ship Inn every Wednesday at 6.15pm.
