JO HODGES, with a 19-dart game, inspired Tramways as Carole Layne, Sue Lowery and Karen Alton helped them to race into a 4-0 lead against York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League division one front-runners City Supporters.

Mother and daughter Tracey and Natalie Farmeary closed the gap, pairing Tina Platt and Lynne Clapham narrowed it still further, but Layne and Lynda Kennelly sealed victory, with Hodges and Judy Hall adding to ‘Way’s tally.

The battle between Marcia ‘A’ and ‘B’ went down to the wire after a draw in the singles.

The ‘A’ team edged in front through Pat Cairns and Clair Cooper, mother and daughter Sue Smith and Faye Hawksby set up a decider, which saw ‘A’ captain Di Moreland and Ann Anderson snatch victory.

Vicki Capes, Angela Lancaster and Julie Oliver gave Jubilee a good start at division two rivals Green Tree, whose Sonya Love replied.

However, Sylvia Keenan and Charlotte Smith secured match points for the visitors.

In division three, Sun put up a brave resistance as they found themselves two players short at Leeman.

Cris and Linda Turgoose and Angela Fletcher enabled them to enter the pairs all square. Denise Pittock and Charlotte Witts then Margaret Yeomans and Janet Nelson sealed victory by the meanest of margins.
