DUNNINGTON ensured the Fulford Ladies Invitational Tennis League division one title race will go down to the wire after completing the double over long time leaders York 1.

They then inflicted a crushing 83-25 defeat on Boston Spa, with Karen Mitchell and Kate Reader taking 31 games, to move within two points of York with a game in hand.

New Earswick secured promotion from division five after taking a point from their draw at Dunnington.

The second promotion place is still up for grabs, with Stamford Bridge leading the charge after recording a 64-44 victory at Heworth which included a 25-game haul from captain Sheila Nicholson and Karen Anderson.

Fulford 1 suffered their first defeat of the season in division two, going down 57-51 to second-placed Starbeck, though both teams will now be promoted to the top flight.

Sutton-on-Derwent returned to the top of a highly competitive division four after a 67-41 victory over mid-table Tollerton.

David Lloyd 2 stay in the hunt after a 70-38 win against Knaresborough.

It is still all to play for in division three as Rufforth occupy top slot on games difference over Appleton, following a 67-41 victory over Copmanthorpe 1.
