CARL STEWART scored a hat-trick as Tadcaster Albion cruised to a 5-0 victory over Barnoldswick Town in the FA Cup extra preliminary round.

Callum Ward opened the scoring for the Brewers on nine minutes and Stewart struck three times in 19 second half minutes, between the 52nd minute and the 71st.

Mitchell Hamilton wrapped up the rout with 13 minutes remaining.

Pickering Town exited the cup yesterday after a 6-0 home defeat by Washington.

Selby Town made it two wins from two in Northern Counties East League division one with a 3-0 home win over Penistone Church. Danny Gray scored on nine minutes and got a 78th-minute penalty and Ryan Robinson struck in the last minute.

Harrogate Railway Athletic let slip a 5-3 lead in the last ten minutes of their Evo-Stik League division one north opener at home to Mossley.

The Railway scorers in the 5-5 draw were Harry Coates, Nathan Cartman (2) and Adam Baker (2). Scarborough Athletic’s return to the north section ended in a 4-1 defeat at Salford City. Jordan Thewlis was the visitors’ marksman.
