HEWORTH maintained their powerful division one promotion drive with a seven-wicket victory at Driffield in the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.

Driffield were dismissed for 106 as Richard Walton took 3-27 and Will Peet 3-26. Oliver Sherwood then struck an unbeaten 58.

Second-placed Sessay had a comfortable win over tenth-placed Bolton Percy, whose 94 all out was 106 runs short of Sessay’s 200-6.

Tim Hall was their top scorer with 59, while Jacob Spencer added 30 and Nick Thorne 42.

Bolton's Tim Malloch made 36, but Mark Wilkie’s 4-9 was decisive.

Harry Walmsley and Neil Elvidge starred in Folkton & Flixton’s nine-wicket defeat of Bridlington.

Walmsley captured 5-46 as Bridlington totalled 199, with Casey Rudd making 74. He then followed with 35 in support of Neil Elvidge, who hit an unbeaten 138.

Bottom placed Selby had by far the better of a draw with promotion-seeking Pickering, who were reduced to 131-9 when pursuing a target of 206-9.

Matthew Clark hit 73, Tom Rich made 28 and Joe Romaniw added 40, while Tom Sigsworth took 3-41. Romaniw then captured 4-31, but Pickering avoided defeat as Ryan Boyes made 32.

Acomb slipped a further three points behind second placed Sessay when they were restricted to a 27-point draw by lowly Malton & Old Malton.

The Dale brothers were to the fore with the bat, Matthew making 72 and Joe 54. Jo Halstead added 37 as Acomb moved to 253-6.

Malton closed on 179-8. Dan Foxton led the way with 61, while Wayne Dawson hit 54, as Halstead took 3-36 in an 11-over stint.
