DYNAMIC duo Emma Brown and Carol Simpson teamed up to grab glory in the York Union of Golf Clubs Aldwark Trophy.
It meant back-to-back top York Union victories for distinguished player Brown, who won the body's Ladies Championship and beat Simpson into second place last month.
She said: "I was supposed to be playing with my mother but she broke her finger. I rang Carol the week before. I had a few birdies, Carol had four shots and used them all - and had a birdie on one of those.
"We only had one hole where we scored just one point and we were steady away. Carol is a very tidy player and performed really well. I have played quite a lot of golf with her and she is doing well for Yorkshire Seniors."
On their performance, Brown added: "We needed every point. We only won on count-back of the last six holes. I had never played in the competition before and hadn't played at Pike Hills for a while. It was in very good nick and the greens were nice.
"It was quite bouncy but I thought it had improved. The greens were small and we are both quite long hitters so it suited us both quite well.
"It was pleasing to win and it is always nice to do well."
