WORLD billiards champion David Causier will be demonstrating his skills in York this weekend.

The billiards exhibition with Causier, who won the world crown by defeating India’s Alok Kumar 6-1 in Leeds last October, will be hosted by Heworth Conservative Club in East Parade on Saturday, from 7.30pm.

A representative from each of York’s four Conservative clubs will play Causier, with Richard Lillie representing Acomb, Bootham’s Colin Robinson, Terry Ward, of Fulford, and Darren Clark, of hosts Heworth.

Admission is free and there will also be a free buffet, with organiser Gary Rogers saying: “The exhibition is being held to hopefully raise awareness of the game of billiards and therefore everyone is welcome.”

As well as holding the short format world title, Causier is the reigning English Open and Bradford Open champion.

The cueman, a three-time former UK professional champion and a professional grand slam winner in India, boasts a highest competitive break of 797 and a break of 1,071 in practice.
