SANDRA BRUCE hit a maximum as Castle Howard Ox 'B' eventually came out on top against division one visitors Marcia 'B' in the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.

Shelagh Kenny won the opening leg for Marcia before Flossy Crampton, Denise Fowler and Bruce edged Ox into a 3-1 lead.

Joan Hunter and Sharon Rishworth levelled, but Ox then pulled away to win 6-3.

Marcia 'A' had captain Di Moreland starting their match off in the right vein, but Carole Layne (140, 100) and captain Sue Lowery responded for visitors Tramways.

Karen Alton added to their tally, but Pat Cairns and Ellen Platt levelled.

Moreland and Ann Anderson edged the home side in front before Lowery (109, 100) set up a decider and then watched as Layne and Emma Reintoul snatched victory.

Michelle Britton hit a maximum in a 25-dart pairs leg with Lynn Thompson as Fulfordgate took home a 6-3 result from joint leaders Burnholme.

Earlier, Sharon Neads had pulled Burnholme level at 3-3 in the singles.
