STAMFORD Bridge earned a Hunters Premier Cup semi-final tie against Studley Royal with a stunning three-wicket victory over reigning premier division champions Woodhouse Grange.

Grange totalled 240-6 after a knock of 112 from Tom Young and 58 by Mike Burdett, but England Under-19s captain Will Rhodes and brother Dan led the Bridge reply.

Will top-scored with 90 and Dan hit 78 as they overcame the efforts of Grange skipper Steve Burdett, who took 3-58.

In the last four of the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League competition they will face a Studley Royal side that beat last season’s runners-up Easingwold.

Batting first, the Royals set a target of 164-8, with Steve Walmsley making 41 and Dan Coad 33, while Richard Lindsay took 3-19.

Easingwold were then bowled out for 127 as Walmsley rounded off a superb all-round display with figures of 3-18.

The line-up for the other semi-final will be decided on Sunday, July 20.

The quarter-final tie between Fenner and Clifton Alliance was rearranged due to a waterlogged pitch, while Acomb and York have rescheduled their last eight tie for the same date.

The semi-finals will be played on Sunday, July 27, with the final due to take place at Harrogate on Sunday, August 17.
