City of York Athletic Club sprinter Tom Somers
TEENAGE speedster Tom Somers has powered his way into the World Junior Athletics Championships.
The 17-year-old left the 200 metres field in his wake when he clocked 21.20 seconds to win the under-20 title in the National U20 and U23 Championships in Bedford.
That power surge from the City of York Athletic Club ace secured him a place in the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon, in the United States next month.
