YORK CITY could face the likes of Leeds United, Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

The Minstermen are unseeded in the northern half of the draw, which will pair teams together at 10am on Tuesday.

Among the 17 seeds in the north are Derby County, who missed out in the Championship play-off final at Wembley last month, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.

In the two years York have competed in the competition, following the club's return to the Football League, they have failed to win their first round match - losing on penalties to Doncaster Rovers and succumbing 4-0 at home to Burnley, who were subsequently promoted to the Premier League, 12 months ago.
