A York soldier has been cleared of sexually assaulting a woman soldier at the end of his second trial.
Glen Smith's first trial had been halted on a technicality. He had been accused of molesting the woman in her home after both had attended a party at Catterick Garrison.
At his second trial on the same charge, the jury at Teesside Crown Court took 40 minutes to reach their not guilty verdict.
Mr Smith, 28, of Willow Glade, Huntington, had denied the charge, saying that he had never touched the woman inappropriately.
The jury heard the woman invited Mr Smith and two friends into her house after the party.
Mr Smith, and an Army representative left court without making any comment.
