PRINCE BONNAIRE can lord it over his rivals at Redcar this afternoon on a card highlighted by the historic Zetland Gold Cup.

Trained by David Brown in Nottinghamshire, Prince Bonnaire made his debut at Doncaster recently and, from a poor draw, shaped well to finish fourth in maiden company. That experience will not have been wasted on him and he should be wiser this time.

Graham Lee takes over the steering this afternoon in the Racing UK Anywhere Available Now Maiden Auction Stakes.

There are a handful of newcomers in the field, which are obviously unknown quantities, but they will have to be on their mettle to lower the colours of Prince Bonnaire, who is napped to oblige.

Lee will be aboard Spa's Dancer in the Happy 10th Birthday Racing UK Zetland Gold Cup, but preference is for Newmarket raider Ajmany

Trained by Luca Cumani, the four-year-old, a winner at Nottingham last season, made an encouraging start to the new campaign when finishing second at Newmarket three weeks ago.

He is entitled to come on for that outing and is fancied to go one better here under the excellent Andrea Atzeni.

In the Market Cross Jewellers Handicap, Atzeni has good prospects aboard Al Busayyir, but the Marco Botti-trained three-year-old may find New Street, trained by Richard Fahey, too strong.

George Chaloner's mount won on this course last year and shaped well at Ripon on his latest start when narrowly beaten. He can gain compensation this time.

Mick Easterby has his horses in good form and the Sheriff Hutton trainer has good prospects of winning the Come Racing Again Tomorrow with Hot Spice.

The six-year-old, formerly trained by John Dunlop, finished fourth at Catterick on his reappearance last month. He steps up another couple of furlongs today and looks sure to be in the shake-up.

At Carlisle, Mattmu may prove the answer to the opening EBF Stallions IJF 50th Anniversary Maiden Stakes.

Runner-up in both his races to date, and narrowly beaten at Beverley on his latest start, this promising youngster is selected to make it third-time-lucky. There are, however, several interesting newcomers in the field - Don Ricardo and Likely among them - and Mattmu could have a fight on his hands.

Alan Swinbank has his North Yorkshire string in good heart and the Melsonby trainer saddles Lady Artiste in the EBF Stallions Download The AppoloBet App Fillies' Handicap.

A lightly-raced four-year-old, Lady Artiste won with some authority at Thirsk on her latest start and may well have turned the corner. She is up 7lb for that success, but can not be discounted this afternoon. Ben Curtis again has the mount.

North Yorkshire apprentice Connor Beasley has been in brilliant form lately and was aboard seven winners in the last week. He can hit the target again on Mash Potato in the ApolloBet Handicap over an extended nine furlongs.

Trained by Micheal Dods, Beasley's boss, Mash Potato finished fifth at Pontefract on his first outing of the season six weeks ago. A dual-winner last season, he can do better today.
