WOODHOUSE Grange were knocked out of the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Cricket Trophy by South Yorkshire League champions Elsecar.
The Sutton-on-Derwent-based Hunters York & District Senior League premier division holders reached the final of last year’s competition, but lost this year’s round one tie by five wickets.
Grange were bowled out for 188 in 50 overs, with Mike Hattee hitting 45, Andrew Bilton 38 and Steve Burdett 32. Elsecar reached 190-5 in 45.5 overs, largely thanks to Brett Hunsley’s unbeaten 79.
