TWO goals in the last 15 minutes earned Cliffe a 2-0 victory over Fulford United in the final of the York FA Saturday Junior Cup.

The opening ten minutes of the final at Tockwith saw strong pressure from Fulford as they had the advantage of playing with the wind.

However, Cliffe produced the best chance on 11 minutes when Chris Jackson shot wide from 18 yards.

Fulford continued to press, with some good balls into the penalty area, but Cliffe created another good chance when Tom Hogg narrowly shot wide on 38 minutes.

After the break, the game was even for the first 15 minutes, with not many chances created.

Cliffe’s Ian Beckram blazed over the bar on 66 minutes with only advancing Fulford keeper David Laverack to beat and two minutes later Cliffe’s Ryan Sedman skimmed the Fulford crossbar with a right wing cross.

Cliffe's Adam Durnin put a clear header wide of a post but made up for it on 75 minutes when he slotted home a right wing free-kick.

Cliffe kept up the pressure and secured victory when Si Houlder was put through to place the bouncing ball past Laverack.

The trophy was presented by York FA chairman Dave Morrill.
