RICCALL and Huntington Rovers both consolidated their respective second and third place finishes with midweek victories in the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division, writes Graham Ireton.
Riccall were 2-0 winners over Dringhouses, Dave Heron and Jeremy James doing the damage.
Rovers, meanwhile, beat St Clement’s thanks to a goal from Lee Bunce.
In division two, Cliffe maintained their title charge after a far from straightforward 4-2 victory at Strensall.
Ian Beckram gave the visitors an early lead only to see his side reduced to nine9 men and fall 2-1 behind to two Jack Wilson penalties.
But Cliffe struck back through a Chris Jackson free-kick to go in level at the break.
Andrew Addison and Si Houlder then bagged second-half goals to seal the points for the patched up outfit.
Liam Robertson struck twice to underpin a 2-1 win for Dringhouses over Easingwold in Reserve ‘A’. Julian Ollive replied for the hosts.
