NORTH Yorkshire trainer Kevin Ryan is quickly getting his string into top gear.

At Newmarket last week, he won the Abernant Stakes with Hamza, saddled The Grey Gatsby to chase home Toormore in the prestigious Craven Stakes and was second with a two-year-old newcomer, who failed by only a whisker to make a winning debut.

Hambleton-based Ryan, pictured, can carry on that good form to Redcar this afternoon and score with Bousatet, who will be partnered by his smart apprentice Kevin Stott.

A triple-winner last season, Bousatet marks highly on consistency and there was much to like about her reappearance run at Leicester earlier this month when she finished second to My Kingdom.

A winner on this course last year, Bousatet contests today's Download The New Racing UK IPa App Handicap. She is expected to take plenty of beating.

Former jump jockey Paddy Aspell, who has been concentrating on the Flat in the last couple of years, looks to have made an excellent career move in switching from North to South.

Now attached to the powerful Marco Botti yard, Aspell gets the leg-up on nap selection Sufranel for his boss in the Win A VIP Day Out @redcarracing.co.uk Maiden Stakes and a winning performance is on the cards.

Sufranel, who showed promise on his only start last season, made a reasonable start to this season when finishing fourth at Pontefract on testing ground. He will have benefited from that outing and is likely to find today's sounder surface in his favour.

He has excellent prospects here and can expect most danger from David O'Meara's French recruit Easter Sky, who boasts a useful rating.

Ronnie Barr does well with his small string and the trainer, who loves a winner at his local Redcar venue, has targeted Foreign Rhythm at the opening Market Cross Jewellers Fillies' Handicap. The mare has good prospects of producing an encore, following a good third at Southwell last week. Dale Swift has the mount.

Longshadow (2.45), who ran a blinder at Pontefract last week, and Broctune Papa Gio (5.05), who is fit from hurdling and is a previous course-and-distance winner, are two others to note on the card.

Over the sticks at Market Rasen,Keltic Rhythm is fancied to defy top weight in the Keith Sharpe Memorial Handicap Chase.

The Neil King-trained gelding has won two of his last three races and looked to be still on the upgrade when scoring at Fontwell four weeks ago. There may be more to come from him.

Sheriff Hutton trainer Mark Walford has every chance of lifting the racinguk.com/anywhere 3 Devices 1 Price Handicap Hurdle with King Of Strings.

The five-year-old won a bumper on this course and has been shaping well over hurdles this season. His latest respectable fourth-placed effort at Kelso came after a break and he is entitled to have benefited as a result. He should go well under Dougie Costello off bottom weight.

Carolina Wren (2.20), a six lengths winner at Huntingdon last time out, and the lightly-raced Deciding Moment (3.30), who was still going well when unseating his rider on his latest outing at Wetherby, are a couple of others to keep on the right side in Lincolnshire.
