DUNNINGTON staved off the threat of relegation with a 6-0 victory over Severus in division one of the Ian’s Cars of Barlby York Sunday Morning Football League, writes Dave Bailey.

Rob Hart scored twice and there were also goals from Rob Chipps, Matt Wain, Brad Swainstrong and Liam Summers.

Division two leaders Leeman United need only a point from their last game to claim the title after beating chief rivals Huntington Rovers 5-1.

Arran Reid’s hat-trick put United 3-0 up and Jack Condren added a fourth before Thomas Reid made it 5-0. Rovers responded with a late penalty.

Britannia Tadcaster are division three champions after a 5-1 win at Brayton saw them overhaul long-time leaders Marcia Grey.

Scott Nicholas put Britannia 1-0 up at half-time and two quick goals from Adam Field gave them a 3-0 lead by the 60th minute.

Jamie Glover and Field then netted before Janos Tacaks scored Brayton’s lone reply.

Marcia Grey reached the final of the League Cup with a superb 4-3 win over Station.

An own goal put Marcia 1-0 up and, although Station hit back to lead 2-1, Marcia levelled when Carl Stewart ran at the defence and Alex Day swept home the loose ball.

Stewart rifled home from the edge of the box to make it 3-2, but Station levelled.

Marcia had a man red-carded but substitute Tommy Medd scored the winner.

In the final, Marcia will meet division one champions King William, who squeezed past York Nomads 1-0, the only goal of the game coming from George Bissett in the 60th minute.
