King William retained the first division title in the Ian’s Cars of Barlby Sunday Morning Football league with three games to play a title that they won last season.

King William who have only dropped two points all season clinched the title with a narrow 4-3 win over Station.

After an even opening fifteen minutes it was the Selby based side that took the lead, but the champions elect hit back ten minutes later with a goal from Danny Gray to tie the scores.

King William then gradually got on top and went 2-1 up with a goal from Luke Hall, they increased their lead just before the break when Kevin Butler broke clear to put the ball in the net.

In the second period King William continued to dominate and went further in front when the Station keeper left the field due to injury and Mitch Carter lobbed the replacement keeper for 4-1.

Station down to ten men started to fight back and pulled it back to 4-3, and despite both sides creating further chances the scores remained the same and King William claiming the title for the second year running. Stations goals coming from Ryan Whitlam, Craig Allen and Gary Collier.

Hounds with two goals from Chris Jackson plus a Gary Chapman strike and an own goal were 4-0 winners over relegation threatened Enterprise.

Leeman United already promoted from division two needed a last minute penalty from Liam Stilgo to beat Albion Vaults 4-3 and stay eight points clear of title rival Huntington Rovers who have played three games less. Ollie Newby with a brace and Mike Mc Kenzie completing United’s scoring. Albion replying with a brace from Craig Campbell and a Chris Coxon strike.

Hemingbrough and York Nomads shared the points in a 3-3 draw. Hemingbrough’s goals coming in the second half from Luke Zacharenko, Tom Collins and Adrian Wood.

Britannia Tadcaster need to win their final game to claim the title in division three after beating relegated Haxby Lion’s 2-0.

Brayton produced had their best result of the season when they won 5-2 at Tadcaster Magnets, a result that sees them move out of the relegation places.

Two nil down after thirty five minutes Brayton hit back with a goal from John Hissett following a well worked corner in the forty third minute, a minute later it was all square when Luke Lambert beat the keeper from the edge of the penalty area.

Brayton went 3-2 up straight after the restart when Rob Guest converted a penalty, he then doubled the lead five minutes later when he collected a through pass from Dave Ward to beat the keeper.

Lambert made it 5-2 with his second of the match on seventy five minutes to complete the scoring and secure the points for Brayton.
