York RI smashed St Clements 10-2 in the York Minster Engineering Premier League on Wednesday evening.

Lee Powell led the way with four goals, closely followed by Ben Jones who hit a hat-trick. Darren Sellers, Lee Atkinson and Liam Keenaghan, from the penalty spot, completed the scoring for the home side.

Dringhouses defeated Poppleton 5-2 in the thanks to yet another Mark Woodward hat-trick, as well as strikes from Liam Stilgoe and Sam Ripley-Kitson. Rich Moss and Josh Nelson bagged Poppleton’s goals.

Division 2 leaders F1 Racing scored an emphatic 7-0 win over Barmby Moor which now guarantees them a top two finish for the second season running. George Trifan and Adam Tiffany collected hat-tricks in the win, with Ben Storey also making the score sheet. Only Cliffe can now pip F1 to the league title if they secure maximum points from their last five games.

A goal from Chris Dempsey was not enough to help Fulford who were defeated 2-1 by visitors Bishopthorpe United.

In Division 3, James Windle scored the only goal as Sporting Knavesmire overcame Rufforth. Knavesmire now need to win their final game at Crayke in order to be crowned champions ahead of Ouseburn United.

Jorvik Blades triumphed 4-1 at Cawood to leapfrog their opponents into 5th in the Division 4 table.William Atton was on target for the hosts, but double-strikes from Alan Marshall and Tim Godfrey sealed a decisive success for Blades.

In Reserve B, the top two sides played out a stalemate as Tadcaster Magnets drew 1-1 at Riccall. Kevin Kozicki struck the hosts’ goal.

The final game of the season in Reserve D saw Bishop Wilton collect their first and only point of the campaign with a 3-3 draw at home to second placed Cliffe. Andrew Healy and Jack Holman (2) found the net for the home side.
