UNEMPLOYED men aged over 35 are being invited to take part in a free eight-week football course.

The first session, run by York City in the Community’s coaches in partnership with the mental health charity MIND, will take place in Bootham Crescent’s sports hall from noon to 2pm on Wednesday, April 23.

The programme - funded by the Health Lottery - is also designed to help participants meet others with similar interests and sessions will be friendly, informal and aimed at meeting the needs of each individual.

Group chats, meanwhile, will focus on offering skills and tools for people to better manager any problems and improve their wellbeing.

To book a place, email mike.snelling @yorkmind.org.uk or phone Mike Snelling on 07436 266088.
