Acomb men’s II shared the division five north points at Thirsk II.

A very quick start by Thirsk made it difficult for Acomb to break out of their own half and the Tangerines conceded following an extended period of pressure.

Acomb rallied and got back in to the game holding Thirsk to that single goal lead into half time.

Acomb came out strongly in the second half with a strike from Jonny Brown after some great build-up play from the back.

Harry Ellis made it 2-1 to Acomb a short while later.

But Thirsk rattled back for a leveller despite the efforts of man of the match Ryan Smith.

Woods’ efforts in vain

Acomb Ladies perished 4-0 to Yorkshire League division two visitors Tadcaster.

Two goals were bagged in each half, but York never gave up inspired by skipper Kerry Woods.
