RICHARD BUCK did not get the start he was looking for at the World Indoor Athletics Championship at Sopot in Poland.

The City of York Athletic Club runner failed to qualify from his heat in the 400 metres.

Buck initially finished fourth, running a time of 47.48 seconds, after being in front at the bell.

But American Kyle Clemons and Jamaica's Akheem Gauntlett surged through as the two qualifiers.

It got worse for Buck when he was later disqualified under the IAAF's rule 163.2, which covers obstruction.
