YORK City centre-back Keith Lowe and boss Nigel Worthington have been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two player and manager of the month awards for February.

Lowe has been rewarded for his efforts during a month in which the Minstermen conceded only one goal in four matches.

His rivals for the accolade are Rochdale striker Scott Hogan, Scunthorpe forward Sam Winnall and Bury full-back Jim McNulty.

The highlight of Hogan’s February was a 16-minute hat-trick at AFC Wimbledon.

Winnall netted in four successive matches and McNulty played an instrumental part in Bury conceding just two goals in five fixtures.

For the managerial award, Worthington is up against Dave Flitcroft (Bury), John Sheridan (Plymouth) and Chris Wilder (Northampton).

Of the four candidates, only Worthington and Flitcroft guided their teams to an undefeated February. City also won 4-0 at Sheridan’s Plymouth team during the month.

Wilder took ten points from a possible 18 to lift the Cobblers off the bottom of the table.

The winners will be revealed later this week and decided by a panel including ex-Wimbledon boss Dave Bassett, ex-Wolves striker Don Goodman, Football League head of communications John Nagle, League Managers’ Association director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet’s Paul Wiggins.
