ARTUR KRYSIAK could return to the Exeter goal when the Grecians come to Bootham Crescent needing to pick up League Two points.

The Polish goalkeeper who spent two matches on loan at York in 2008 as cover for Michael Ingham, had missed three games with a knee injury but was on the bench as Exeter were beaten 1-0 by Wycombe Wanderers at St James Park on Tuesday night.

Max Kretzschmar’s 23rd-minute goal, a 35-yard lob over Christy Pym, condemned the home side to defeat and they are now only seven points clear of the League Two relegation zone.

They have won just once in their last ten matches – a 3-2 win at Southend a couple of weeks ago – and have lost their last two without scoring a goal.

Manager Paul Tisdale chopped and changed his side for the Wycombe clash, skipper Danny Coles the highest profile casualty as he continues to battle with a knee complaint, arguing it was “too much to ask to have players play every game”.

Matt Oakley, Arron Davies, Jimmy Keohane and John O’Flynn also dropped to the bench from the side that had lost to Rochdale in their previous match.

Tisdale bemoaned a “disappointing night”, adding his charges looked “incredibly nervous”.

“There’s a third of the season to go, so we’ve just got to keep going,” he said. “There’ll be twists and turns between now and the end. It’s not over now, at the end of February – there’s a lot of football to be played, and we have to keep going.”

Exeter (possible): Krysiak, Butterfield, Bennett, Coles, Woodman, Sercombe, Grimes, Wheeler, Gill, Richards, Nichols.
