Northern Ireland trainer Stuart Crawford, who makes regular and successful visits to Britain, can gain a double strike at Wetherby this afternoon.

Based at Larne in County Antrim, Crawford is a shrewd operator and he can add to his tally of winners on this side of the Irish Sea today with Hidden Horizons and Fine Rightly.

The latter, a winner at Ayr on his penultimate start, finished a good second on the same course last week.

The six-year-old looks progressive and, with Stephen Crawford, the trainer’s brother in the saddle, he is fancied to resume winning ways in the Watch On Three Devices racinguk.com/anywhere Novices’ Hurdle.

Hidden Horizons goes to post in the EBF/TBA Mares’ Novices’ Handicap Chase.

Winner of a point-to-point and a hurdle, Hidden Horizons has finished third in all three of her steeplechase outings to date. She is now into handicap company for the first time and, with Peter Buchanan in the saddle, the eight-year-old is selected to defy top weight.

North Yorkshire trainer Micky Hammond has good prospects of netting the Download New Racing UK IPad App Handicap Hurdle with Stickleback.

Joe Colliver’s mount has run two good races in defeat this season, a third at Hexham being followed by a solid runner-up effort behind Adili here last time. It would be no surprise to see him step up to the number one slot today.

Bingley trainer Sue Smith has a good following on this course and Fill The Power should go well for her in the Ladies Evening–29th May Handicap Chase.

Fourth at Haydock and Doncaster on his two outings this season, the eight-year-old should find this race more within his scope. He is expected to go well.

Sam Twiston-Davies journeys north to team up with Millicent Silver, trained by his father Nigel, in the Wetherby Racecourse Family Sunday–13th April Mares’ National Hunt Flat Race.

The five-year-old made a winning debut at Warwick and, likely to have learned plenty from that experience, may be capable of defying a penalty this afternoon.

On the Flat at Southwell, Fire In Babylon will be a popular choice in the Coral Mobile Handicap over a mile and a half.

Noel Quinlan’s charge has been in unstoppable form lately, winning his last three starts, which included a victory on this course only last week.

A 6lb penalty for that success pushes his weight up here to 9st 12lb, but in his current form he will surely prove hard to beat. Adam Beschizza again has the mount.

Michael Appleby has enjoyed a tremendous time of things on the all-weather circuit this winter and the trainer has strong claims in the opening Download The Ladbrokes App Handicap with Queen Of Skies, a course-and-distance winner, who has won two of her three starts since the turn of the year.

Others worth noting are the promising Yeah Baby (3.00) and nap selection Romantic Bliss (5.10), who lines up for the concluding handicap after a timely and encouraging comeback outing.
