TADCASTER Albion extended their lead at the top of the Northern Counties East League premier division with a 2-1 win at Maltby Main.

The Brewers are now five points clear of Barton Town Old Boys, but the second-placed side have three games in hand.

Carl Stewart gave the visitors a 20th minute lead and although the hosts levelled before the break, Calum Ward hit the winner in on 55 minutes.

There was only one other game played in the top flight, with Pickering Town’s home clash with Bridlington Town among those fixtures postponed.

In division one, Selby Town’s home clash with Dinnington and Knaresborough Town’s trip to Yorkshire Amateur also fell foul of the weather.

Chris Hall’s 66th minute goal earned Harrogate Town a fourth straight win in Conference North as they won 1-0 at Histon.

Harrogate Railway Athletic’s trip to Ramsbottom United was postponed – along with all other fixtures in Evo-Stik League division one north.

Scarborough Athletic were 3-0 home winners over Carlton Town in division one south thanks to a nine minute hat-trick from Gary Bradshaw, who opened the scoring with a 68th minute penalty.
