KEITH Lowe has been heralded for his “know-how” ahead of York City’s meeting with his former club Cheltenham Town this afternoon.

The Minstermen have conceded less than a goal a game since the 28-year-old defender arrived at Bootham Crescent in mid-November after he was deemed surplus to requirements by the Robins.

Lowe has played every minute of the last 14 matches for City and only finished on the losing side four times.

On his impact in North Yorkshire, City chief Nigel Worthington said: “He is experienced in the league and has played more than 300 games, which has brought great knowledge and know-how into the football club.

“When you are fighting for your life every single week, you need that type of player each game to help you get those three points.”

Worthington has also admitted that Michael Coulson’s position at the head of the club’s assists table has grabbed his attention.

The former Scarborough and Barnsley winger has created five goals for team-mates despite only starting seven league games this term.

Most recently, Coulson set up Wes Fletcher’s last-minute winner at Fleetwood last weekend to stake his claim for a first XI recall, having started the last three games on the bench.

On Coulson’s contributions, Worthington said: “The game is about creating and helping the situation and his stats are probably as good as anybody at the club. In terms of picking a side, you look at the overall picture and, then, go from there.”
