BACK to back wins were notched by Acomb II for the first time this term after beating City of York VII 3-1 in division five north.
York struck first after a long ball from defence caught Acomb in disarray.
With Acomb hovering just above the relegation positions they knew they had to pull out all the stops in the second half – and they did.
Rob Ireland, Acomb’s man of the match, and Rob Kendrew created chances for Jonny Brown and Joe Hadden.
A leveller was notched by Kendrew, who finished off a well-worked move.
Acomb had to always be alert to the threat of York counter-attacks, but with ten minutes left, the Tangerines went in front through Brown following interplay between Dave Bird and Hadden.
With minutes left on the clock Acomb piled forward again and were rewarded by a second goal for Brown.
