FORMER York City winger Matty Blair is expected to line up against his old club tomorrow.

Unfortunate for Matty that things aren't working out properly at Fleetwood. But that's football for you. Would love to see him back but would be come back?

Whilst we should all be grateful to MB for his efforts it us worth remembering that he chose to leave us. I would also question whether he is any better than the the players we have now. He's a lovely bloke and a great personality, but he's moved on and so should we. City to win 2-0.

Other than Meredith, who is now out with a damaged foot, have any of the other players in that promotion squad gone on to bigger and better things?

I suppose Ben Gibson to some extent - playing on loan for Tranmere now.

The team was greater than the sum of its parts in my opinion. There were a lot of elements that came together at exactly the right time to gel into a very good unit. Matty was one of those elements. He had been out for a long period before he came back with fire in his belly to play a major part in the teams promotion.

Boucaud played 23 games before his transfer to Luton, now a regular at League 1 Notts County

It all depends which Matty Blair turns up tomorrow. If its the good one then Ben Davies could be in for a busy afternoon. But Matty is a talented lad who struggles for consistency. I wish him well (after tomorrow).

Hope he's still rusty, from not having too many starts with Fleetwood.
Mind hope he gets a good reception from our fans.
He deserves that at least.

His decision to join Fleetwood ahead of Portsmouth was, from a footballing point of view, bewildering. But I guess that's agents for you. Sure he would have played more at YCFC but it was his call. Why would you turn down a chance to play in front of 15000 each week to play in front of 2000 if there is a decent away following?
As with Chambers forever grateful for his part in the purple patch month of 2011/12 - and he was as purple as it got with the vital goals in just about every match - but sorry I for one could not help but be disappointed by his switch to a club which never in a million years was a step up.....memories of Kiely to Bury came to mind..... Go on to a bigger club by all means but chasing the cash at Fleetwood left a poor taste to me.
Wouldn't back against him having a blinder tomorrow, please no one on one's with TY!

Matty did great for us and I appreciate it, but I don't care what reception he gets from City fans, he chose to leave and now he's been loaned out to a team below us, so we move on.

Blair got a good reception today, applauded and cheered when announced before kick off. Had one strong run/dribble, missed a sitter in the second half with the score 0-0 then disappeared from the game. He's not up to League 2 standard in my opinion and that's what I thought last season as well by the way
