NEW Earswick All Blacks’ Pennine League game at Chequerfield tomorrow has been postponed as a mark of respect to one of the rugby league club’s founding fathers, Dennis Harrison.

Harrison died of a heart attack in the early hours of New Year’s Eve while on holiday in Benidorm. He was 77.

His son, Richard, was a player with junior club Dunnington in 1983 when the team were forced to move out, sparking the formation of a new club, York All Blacks. They moved to New Earswick in 1994.

The current players, club members and friends are to have a get-together at their White Rose Avenue clubhouse tomorrow from 2pm.
