ENTRIES are now open for the Frank Piercy Cricket Cup competition.
The cup is open to any club from any league, with the proviso that players should not be regular members of teams in the premier division or division one in a designated Senior League.
Games are played on a Twenty20 basis, with a finals day on a Sunday in August at Sheriff Hutton Bridge.
The Strensall-based club are the competition organisers and provide a cash prize for the winners.
The early rounds are regionalised to reduce travelling.
Organisers are hoping to use the format of a three-team round- robin played on a Sunday, ensuring that all teams play at least two games.
Entries are invited from clubs in the Hunters York & District Senior League, York Senior Eastern Conference, the HPH York Vale League, the Nidderdale League, Wetherby League and Scarborough Beckett Leagues.
Entries can be submitted by phoning Albert Pattison on 01904 490394 or by emailing pennyserenade@tiscali.co.uk
