SPORTING Knavesmire returned to the top of York Minster Engineering Football League division three after edging out Selby Olympia 2-1.
Alex Dale and James Windle found the net for the league leaders with the Selby side’s goal coming from Connor Brewins.
York Acorn cruised to a 7-0 win over Huby United. Lee Jacob scored two, with Kenneth Shepherd, Wilson Briggs, Connor Larner, Dean Walker and Andrew Dutton all joining him on the scoresheet.
Seven goals were also netted at Stamford Bridge, with visitors Rufforth emerging 4-3 winners.
Graham Wray and Tom Bateson put Rufforth 2-0 ahead but Stamford rallied to level and then take the lead with goals from Chris Day, Olly Lee and Tony Downing.
Rob Murphy brought Rufforth back on par before Bateson hit his second to complete the scoring.
Only some excellent goalkeeping from Matt Crowland prevented Stamford Bridge from claiming a share of the points.
