YORK City Knights have two new board members.
Lifelong fan Dave Baldwin, of Tockwith-based Castles UK, and York solicitor Stephen Knowles have joined the new-look management board, following on from the appointment of Ian Paver, of York-based family company Pavers Shoes, three months ago, plus the arrival of new commercial manager John Holmes.
Furniture company Castles UK, set up by Baldwin in 2001, is already a long-time sponsor of the Knights, as well as contributing player sponsorship to new team captain Jack Lee, while Knowles is a long-standing rugby league fan.
Knights chairman John Guildford said: “We need people on board to help us open doors, find sponsors and make us more of a community club. Both Dave and Stephen are big supporters and their hearts are in the club.
“It’s great to have people like this on board. I’m delighted. It shows we’re moving forward and that people want to join us and be involved. It’s great for the club.”
Following the departure of general manager Ian Wilson at the end of last season, the board had comprised only Guildford and respective heads of departments before the addition of Paver, Baldwin and Knowles.
