TEENAGE swimming coach Shelley Taylor has been selected to attend the Youth Sport Trust’s National Young Coaches and Officials Academy at Loughborough University.

The Tadcaster Grammar School pupil is among more than 200 youngsters who have been selected for the three-day academy, which offers promising young coaches and officials the opportunity to learn and share experiences.

The group of pupils also includes a quartet of Harrogate Grammar School volleyball coaches – Jasmine Cannon, Daisy Kirk, Olivia Ried and Oliver Watson.

Ali Oliver, managing director at the Youth Sport Trust, said: “Our aim for the young coaches and young officials is that they gain a real understanding of the importance of developing their skills to the best they can be.”
