A TRIO of Yorkshire youngsters figured as England Under-19s went down by 47 runs to Pakistan in their latest tri-nations clash in the United Arab Emirates.
Stamford Bridge all-rounder Will Rhodes took 3-43 from seven overs and Sheriff Hutton Bridge bowler Matt Fisher claimed 1-31 from eight overs as Pakistan hit 241-8 from their 50 overs.
England were then bowled out for 194 in 45.3 overs, with Harrogate’s Jonny Tattersall making 28, Rhodes hitting 28 and Fisher being bowled for a duck.
The defeat leaves England second in the tournament table behind Pakistan, but still on course to qualify for the final in Dubai on Sunday.
England had won their opening game of the tournament against the United Arab Emirates by 42 runs, but then lost by three wickets to Pakistan.
On Friday, they were seven-wicket winners over the UAE with 172 balls to spare in Sharjah.
The UAE were dismissed for 94, with Rhodes bowling four overs for only ten runs and Sessay bowler Karl Carver going for only 15 runs from his four overs.
Harrogate’s Tattersall then steered England home with an unbeaten 42 off 63 balls at the top of the order, a display that earned the man of the match award.
England take on the UAE in Dubai tomorrow before concluding their bid for a place in the final with a game against Pakistan in Dubai on Friday.
